Fix: Virus and Threat Protection Showing “Engine Unavailable”

I remember the first time I noticed the “Engine Unavailable” message in my Virus and Threat Protection settings. I was in the middle of a critical project and decided to check if my antivirus was up to date. When I opened the Windows Security app, a sense of dread washed over me as I saw the unsettling notification. My heart sank, and I realized that I was facing a problem that could compromise my computer’s security.

The issue seemed to appear out of nowhere. I hadn’t made any significant changes to my system recently or installed any new software that could have interfered with my antivirus. To my immense relief, the “Engine Unavailable” message had disappeared, and my antivirus engine was functioning correctly.

After resolving the issue, I made sure to run a full system scan to verify that my computer was free from any threats. Everything came back clean, and I was finally able to return to my project with peace of mind. It was a frustrating experience, but I learned a lot about troubleshooting and maintaining my system’s security.

In the end, the solution involved a combination of checking for updates, restarting services, using built-in troubleshooting tools, scanning system files, and performing a repair installation.
